Supposedly WDSU here in (very hot and humid) New Orleans has
done the same. I'm willing to bet that other DTV-channel 6 stations
will be doing the same.
This sort of puts a large nail in the concept of expanding the
FM band further "south" (down the dial).

Philadelphia's Channel 6 got angry viewers and bad press during the
transition to digital only transmission. Over the past weekend, it
quadrupled its TV signal.
The FCC granted an STA for six months, but the station will seek
permission to make it permanent.
One columnist writes "The weekend's action confirmed that the FCC
underestimated the necessary digital-signal strength in engineering
models. Those models, experts have said, were based on outdoor
antennas, which many homeowners in the Philadelphia area lack.
