The original 9100A did not have NRSC filtering. This is the fundamental
difference between 9100A and 9100B.
The 9100A may have been retrofitted with NRSC filtering, effectively
turning it into a 9100B.
So you'll need to look at it a bit closer to determine if the retrofit
is applied to this specific unit or not.
Updated units will have an RET041 modification label (monaural units) or
an RET042 modification label (stereo units). Very early units will also
have RET033 modification labels too.
If you want to have the 9100A updated to NRSC specifications, the cost
depends on the vintage of the 9100A. If the serial number is below
700000, it will need retrofit kit RET033. If the serial number is 700000
or above, you don't need RET033. The NRSC conversion kit is retrofit
RET041 (mono) or RET042 (stereo).
RET033 $50.00 ( only if serial number is below 700000)
RET041 $400.00 (mono)
RET042 $600.00 (stereo)
