"Is it true that WBCN Boston will be changing to WBZ FM and going all sports?"

A bit oversimplified, but yes. WBCN becomes Mix 104, moving the Mix 98.5 (WBMX) format over to 104.1. 98.5 becomes WBZ-FM, the Sports Hub. WBCN will live on the web and on 98.5 HD-2, for whatever that's worth.

"Doesn't Boston already have two sports stations?"

One and about two-thirds. WEEI on 850 (which is the anchor of a New England-wide network of stations), ESPN on 890 and 1400 (two market rimshots), and WWZN, which has a 50-kW signal at 1510 which doesn't really cover a huge chunk of the market and which is brokered out to sports and some non-sports programming.

(In the interest of full disclosure, I work for WEEI.)
