Such receivers ARE made... and they have 5-digit pricetags. Wanna play? Gotta 
pay! ;)

I have seen receivers that go from the Khz to the bottom of the Ghz bands, 
all (analog) modes, in the $20K range. Spectrum displays, you-name-it. Amazing 
stuff.
