Sorry .. this is one of those threads that should not have happened.
Clearance prices are local decisions. They are based on local
management's determination of whether they prefer to send it to the
regional warehouse, or try to get rid of it locally - and regional
policies differ. The price cuts can be from 10% to 50% depending upon
many factors, including the local market size.
Just because you couldn't get a price from another state, does not
make the company bad.
Suppose one of your radio stations in another market was having a bad
month and lowered spot prices - should your station honor *those*
prices, even though you are 40 markets higher, just because it was
the same company?
Come on ... we know that some folks take it as a challenge to beat
out the last $2 on a price.
Nevertheless, there is no need to denigrate a company purely on a
decision made locally, in a market thousands of miles away.
