There is no charge. Number porting is a federal law, they have to do
it for free. In the end you just have the ported land line number on
your cell, the original cell number goes away. The process can take
anywhere from 24 hrs to 10 days, depending on the provider. You end
up with just the regular cell bill. You DO have to pay for the POTS
install to get the number but that is a one time fee plus the partial
month service charge for POTS service until the number ports over to
your cell.
