Actually the correct number was a Model 314. It was essentially the first
Continental 1 kW. Manufactured. I guess they didn't manufacturer and of the
Western Electric 1 kW. versions.
I sent copies of the manual to both Harold and Barry for their sites.
There was one at a station in Aiken, SC. The manager told me the good thing
about the transmitter was that he ran only 500 Watts. They had taps for 500 Watts
but he could lose one tube and just pull out the bad one and still make his
500 Watts on high power.
If there are any in the Unites States in use or sitting I would like to know
about the location and I might come by and photograph the transmitter.
I understand the AFN bought several for use in Europe.
