[BC] XP SP3

For the most part, SP3 is a comprehensive update of all the (over 100) patches that have been issued since SP2. I recently reinstalled XP SP2 (which is really essential beyond SP1 or plain XP) and the updater wanted to install over 100 patches and fixes. I refused, hearing that SP3 was coming, and also that I had limited time and Bandwidth from my WIFI link at home to be able to do this. Not to mention that some of the patches required a complete reboot. I plan to install SP3 now. Should be a positive improvement over XP SP2. Its a shame that any OS should have this many fixes, but so goes it with Windoze. SP3 may be the final fix for XP since they don't want to continue it. I read a piece in Business Week that said Steven Balmer said "Vista is still a work in progress" - astounding! Microsoft gave Apple a big market opportunity when it released Vista as it was. But Apple may not be able to take full advantage of this freebie:
