Richard has some very interesting thoughts about the future of digital 
media.  That says to me, that about every 7 years I need to transfer from 
the old media (DVD/CD) to the new media (blu-ray or what replaces it). And 
so it goes.

But maybe it also says the huge increase in capacity expected will reduce 
the physical size of the library, and that's probably a good thing.

If I had my entire collection of "Railroad' & "Trains" magazines, that date 
back to the 30's and 40' in electronic form that would be ideal.

I do have National Geographic on CD, but the format was before .pdf is 
klunky.
