[BC] Processing (WAS:Collins 300-G pictures)

Frank,
I reccomended to Randy Swafford, GM at WEEN/WLCT, Lafayette, TN that they needed to replace the old Collins 20V-2, BEFORE they added an Omnia 3am processor. My experience has been with the Armstorng X1000B is that, even if it is a newer, IBOC comaptible transmitter, in analog mode, I just about can't turn off all bass settings and the bass is still very strong. It may be how Sinan has the PDM Amps set in the Armstrong box, I'm not sure. The mod transfomer in that Collins box maybe not in the best of shape and may die if somebody cranks the Omnia too high with that Collins Box. I think it is the original mod transfomer that came with the Collins from the factory in 1958. Randy has the original specs from the factory that came with the Collins 20V-2 when it rolled off the assembly line back then.
Randy tells me they may buy an Armstrong here before too long, he has half way got the owner talked into it. If so, an Omnia will go in place for processing. They like the way WMRO-AM sounds with the Armstrong Box and the Omnia 3am. I've been told by some folks because we are so loud, we sound like we are running 5 KW, and we are at just 1 KW. Thanks to you Frank, and Sinan at Armstrong, we are the loudest station in Sumner County.

P.S. Thanks for the Omnia t-shirts we got from you at the NAB, Leslie (my wife) wears her's alot.

You can MOST DEFINITELY reduce the bass in the Omnia.3. If someone needs
assistance, please contact our Support Dept.
