I saw the anniversary special on NBC too. An enormous amount of "museum
quality" material from the WTC is being stored in the 80,000 square
foot, climate controlled Hangar 17 at JFK awaiting the construction of a
WTC Museum where much of it will be displayed. They have items as large
as fire apparatus and other emergency vehicles, subway cars, elevator
motors, and the last section of the exterior supports to be removed
during the cleanup operation. The latter carries the signatures of all
of the rescue and cleanup workers and was treated as sacred when it was
ceremoniously removed from the WTC site. It is being stored in its own
seperate climate controlled room within Hangar 17 because it was already
starting to deteriorate. The program did indeed show a brief view of
Brian Williams standing in front of a large section of what they
described as the base of the antenna. They only showed it briefly for a
few seconds. It appeared to be about the size of a small truck.
