PE 6-5000 was the phone number for the Hotel Pennsylvania in NYC...and at
least as of a few years ago, 212-736-5000 was STILL the number for the
Hotel Pennsylvania in NYC.

(And from what I hear from those who've stayed there recently, they
haven't cleaned the place in all that time, either...)
