The Grundig S350 on the shelf at Radio Shack:

has an LCD signal strength indicator...along with an "RF Gain" front panel
adjustment for MW & SW bands...not a bad unit...out performs the beloved
Super Radio. Around 99 bucks. It sounds decent too on FM...switchable
stereo/mono. In one cluster we outfitted all of our remote kits with these
units both AM & FM. It would pull in the station where the Super Radio would
fail. Great FM sensitivity and selectivity.

Bob,

SURELY you jest....... ]:)

Get a Hallicrafters S-76 (it really should have been a
SX model but I digress). It has THE largest S-meter
ever put on a radio. 5 inches I think. If you can't
read that meter, well you need to se the eye doctor!
