Hi all:

I know that this isn't radio, but I need your help! My good friend,
former boss and now writer for the Tech-Notes, John Silva is putting
together a story for us on the history of televising the Rose Parade.
John was one of the engineers who did the very first televising of the
Rose Parade when no one else was doing it. We?re looking at a
report/story that will cover from the Iconoscope cameras through color
and HDTV ? home-brew microwave gear and more. We are looking for any
pictures that might support this story. Most seem to have been lost. If
you have any or know where we can get any that we can use, please help
us. As I have told John, if we don?t get this recorded, it will be lost.

We would also be interested in any anecdotal information that you may
have on this subject matter.

FYI: John Silva, in addition to many other firsts in the television
industry, is the inventor the Telecopter, did the Lawrence Welk Show
before it was ever on network TV and was very involved in the first
televising of an atomic bomb blast from Nevada (see the most current
edition of Tech-Notes). All of these stories have been in the Tech-Notes
over the years.

Thanks
