One of the most famous Mac stereo amps was the 275. It was 75 watts per
channel using a pair of 6550's in each channel.

The Mac I recall was one of the original ultra-linear's and only got
30 W. I recall they got 80 from a pair of 6550's

The ultra-linear used tertiary windings in the cathode circuit and
43% taps for the screens. IIRC Mac built a 160 using PP parallel
6550's. Very low distortion for tubes and iron and terrific quality.
