not to steer this back to WKRP, but the first episode consisted of the new 
PD andy travis, switching the station to rock from muzak, and a comical 
protest in the station lobby by WKRP's listeners, (or maybe _some_ of the 
listeners), 3 or 4 senior citizens.

Over the years, the chicago classical music audience seemed to be divided 
into high-brows if you will, and people who enjoyed crowd pleasers, and 
talent a bit more down to earth.  The former listened to WFMT, the latter 
WNIB.   I know people who are still mourning the sale of WNIB which was 
around 5 years ago.   I miss it myself, partly because i can no longer brag 
that chicago has TWO classical stations.

As far as I know, the listeners group was squeaky clean.  There were
some very recognizable names in that group, which I would rather not
mention.
