HD Radio -- Doing it Right

Well how can we do it right when we are starting from such flawed and 
obsolete system. Apple just introduce a new IPOD this week and I am sure it not a 
rehash of a 20 year old technology. Radio has become so stuck on Ibiquity that 
all reasonable new technology has been ignored. One recent posting indicated the 
transition from analog (FM)  to so called HD digital was nearly transparent 
--- sooo why transition at all? Multi casting via DRE's digital subcarrier 
scheme may well be more effective, and this too is an old technology. Multi 
casting is an a great opportunity but the financial and technical constraints of 
Ibiquity will likely strangle it for all but the super big conglomerates.  One 
would hope the the standard remains open enough to accomodate better and lower 
cost future solutions.

Let's not freeze like a deer in the headlights (they usuall get killed).
