Certain diodes and FETS are also prone as well.

There's a reason why there should be at least one or two stations in 
each market with islanded transmitters (connected to nothing, but able 
to be put on the air in minutes through quick connections.)

A 1-2.5 KW box is really easy to do this with...  And given clean/clear 
band conditions following a disaster or band clearing event, a 1KW box 
even at 1600 on a 90 deg. stick can cover a large city with a 
listenable signal.
