How about the time when we were working at one of our remote stations out  in 
the country. It was a warm spring day and often we would exercise the 35 Kw  
Engine Alternator that would transfer the station load and run for a half  an 
hour or so, then switch back.
 
The old farmer putters over to the fence on his Oliver tractor. Says, "hey  
boys, I wish you wouldn't run your engine so often." When asked why, he said,  
"well everytime your dang engine starts up, my lights go out!"
 
He never connected the fact that the engine started when HIS lights went  out!
