Yes, it's free. I took a look. I could hardly contain my laughter.

They (a company called Nethercomm) actually DO propose to use the gas lines 
as some sort of waveguide to send RF signals to homes. Nope, they're not 
talking about putting fiber in the lines.

FIRST big flaw I see in this scheme is that, in many places now, gas lines 
are NOT metallic; they're plastic. Last I knew, plastic does NOT make good 
waveguides!

It will be interesting to follow this and see if this pans out. Yes, I know 
a lot of people laughed at Edison and Ford and Bell and Marconi even, and 
they (Edison, et.al.) had the last laugh.
