The 316F George. Ya either loved em or hated em. The secret to good stable  
operation was to keep the biasing and balance perfect in the push pull audio  
circuit. The original Delco transistors were almost invicible, but when they  
blew and you had to use generic replacements, the rig became a lot more fragile 
 and tempermental. The Delcos are nearly impossible to find anymore. Altho 
the  rig was very inefficient, it made very sweet audio. And the 4CX-15,000A's 
seemed  to last forever. Old man Dougherty had one helluva design in that box.
