[BC] Hilmer Swanson passes away

I just heard that Hilmer Swanson passed away this morning, in Quincy, IL. 
He succumbed to brain cancer, which rapidly took him since it was 
discovered only months ago.  For those who didn't know him, Hilmer was at 
the highest technical position (corporate fellow?) at Harris Corp, and was 
the inventor who developed the various high efficiency AM transmitters for 
Gates and Harris, including the polyphase PDM series SX and  the 
digital  DX designs, among other innovative transmitters. A legendary 
designer of  broadcast transmitters is gone.

Visitation is to be at Hansen-Spear funeral home in Quincy, on Tuesday 
evening, 7/26/05. His funeral will be on 7/27.
