However, consider a 7 tower end-fire:

1, 6, 15, 20, 15, 6 and 1, or

0.050, 0.300, 0.750, 1.0, 0.750, 0.300 and 0.050

I know of a few 7 towers which were proposed, but none which were
actually built.

Let's look at the power into those seven towers, if the total power into the
array is 1.0 kW.

Tower 1 - 001.082 watts /_ - something

Tower 2 - 038.961 watts /_ + something

Tower 3 - 243.506 watts /_ - something

Tower 4 - 432.900 watts /_ 0.000

Tower 5 - 243.506 watts /_ + something

Tower 6 - 038.961 watts /_ - something

Tower 7 - 001.082 watts /_ + something

Consider how difficult it would be to maintain the array with a 400:1 power
ratio between the reference tower, Tower 4, and the lowest powered towers,
Towers 1 and 7.

In contrast, a side-fire array could be designed to do the same job, but the
powers in the towers could be almost the same for all.

Much easier to maintain.
