[BC] IBOC History

So let's see..Let me digest what I just read below....

Digital radio is an ENGINEERING system that excluded ENGINEERS in its choosing
and development...

Ibiquity chose a system known to be INFERIOR to (at least) two others..

It's a waste of time to talk about it any further, because after all, we all
have spinning wheels in our color TV sets and AT LEAST 300
(out of about 13,000 or .02%) of stations have implimented the inferior signal
system...

Of course the FACT is that receiver penetration is still ZERO.....

But none of this matters...RIGHT!

Because after all, we should all roll over and play DEAD!

Yep...sounds like America in the new millennium to me!

Ibiquity perceived correctly that, except for execution
of the implementation, engineers were irrelevant to the
process of the transition from analog to digital.

The Lucent system they discarded probably was better,
and there is no question DRM in the compatible mode
can reduce interference on the AM side, but Ibiquity
bought their ticket and now they intend to ride.

Going over past history is a waste of time and anyone
who is really interested can find it on the web in
one of several places I posted a couple of days ago.
