   Anyone else here who remembers reading "I Remember Babylon" by Arthur 
Clarke??

   Quick plot summary:  Group is planning to orbit synchronous satellites.

   Satellites would be in international territory and therefore not subject 
to control of any terrestrial government.

   Proposed programing was propaganda and pornography.

   Fast Forward to today ...

   Why blow up buildings?

   Launch a satellite and use its programing to control their viewing and 
therefore their minds.
