I vaguely recall from TV repair shop days that one side of
the AC line cord was not connected directly to the chassis
of these sets; rather, it was bussed around from point to point
and then taken to the chassis through a 1 meg resistor, bridged
by a .05?F cap.  Can anyone verify or clarify?

Also, speaking of line-voltage filament strings, remember the
117L7/M7-GT/G tube?  It was an octal with a 117V
filament.  I believe it was a pentode with a half-wave
rectifier in the same package.  Some "phono oscillator"
I had used one of these... Sort of like Mattel's "My First
Radio Station."
