Which is why they were always inside plastic cases, with plastic knobs. I 
lost count of how many of them I tore apart in my foolish youth. Sigh. I wish I 
had kept them. SOME of them would now be worth something! SIGHHHhhh....

*** that tube was also an audio amp as well as detector/agc.
