You wouldn't think somebody in a place that sold hardware would fall
for that.  I've been annoyed by salespeople to the point of
considering doing something like this, though, so I totally
understand.

I think the very worst was a guy who wanted to argue with me about
what I wanted in a Radio Shack about ten years ago.  He was one of
those that wasn't smart enough to know that he didn't know anything.

Somebody was saying that RS was going to try to start stocking and
selling components again.  I'm trying to decide if I think this is a
good thing, or if it will just lead to folks trying to explain
something to me on a subject where I've forgotten more than they'll
ever know.
